Title: Spreadcoin-QT wallet editing transactions
Post by: kraft on April 29, 2018, 04:00:17 am
Hello!

I'd like to hide some transactions in my cold Spreadcoin-QT wallet. How should I do that? I've tried to edit... wallet.dat via DB Browser for SQLite, but it did not open. What should I do? Any suggestions?

So the question is - "How to edit transaction history in my wallet?"

To clean up your transaction history, you can start fresh with a new wallet.dat

To do this:
- Close your spreadcoin wallet
- Rename your old wallet.dat to oldwallet.dat (in windows it's in %AppData%/Roaming/SpreadCoin)
- Restart your wallet (this will create a new wallet.dat)
- Create and take note of a receive address
- Close the wallet, rename wallet.dat to newwallet.dat
- Rename oldwallet.dat to wallet.dat
- Open Wallet, and send coins to your new receive address
- Close wallet, rename wallet.dat to oldwallet.dat
- Rename newwallet.dat to wallet.dat

When you reopen the wallet (using the new wallet.dat), you should see your coins in your new address, with only one transaction.

If you ever need the old transaction history you can reload oldwallet.dat  ... But CAUTION , do not lose or overwrite the wallet.dat that has the coins in it.  This would cause you to lose all your coins. In fact, it's probably a good idea to keep copies of your wallet.dat files somewhere safe, in case it gets deleted or your hard drive fails.

Hope this helps.
