Technical Support / Re: How to know if miner is actually mining?
« on: June 27, 2017, 04:50:02 pm »
Also, you might check how many connections your spreadcoin wallet has with the outside world.

Read this message and the previous 2 : http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=762.msg4265#msg4265

When you are solo-mining you need your wallet to have more than 8 connections to reduce the possibility for orphan blocks,
especially since we are a 1 min blocktime coin with not that many full nodes running...

So I currently have the SpreadMiner setup, followed the Youtube video but I don't know if it is actually running correctly. Please advise:

Is this how it is supposed to look for a Nvidia GPU or am I doing something wrong?

This looks good, meaning it already passed a few tests.
It was able to compile kernels, connect with the Spreadcoin-Wallet and find CUDA-capable GPU's.
So far it looks good.

Your 3.6 MH/s are 0.05 % of the current net hash rate of ca 6 GH/s.
Spreadcoin has 1440 Blocks a day on average, so you should expect to find 0.72 blocks per day, on average.

Hello all! I'm new to mining and want to join the mining SpreadCoin. Prompt, please, where can I get information on how to configure your miner and start mining SpreadCoin?

I suggest you watch this tutorial:

I'll still be here patiently waiting regardless of updates, so take your time and release when it's ready 8) ...

Great.

Meanwhile we have a net hashrate of 6 GH/s.
That's a new all time high.  8)

In a general sense, yeah.

Yes, lots of stuff needs to change.
I'm not saying that I'm happy with how things are right now.
There are too many loose ends everywhere, forum needs to be updated, website still references old stuff etc..

And as if that wasn't enough, we have an ongoing Altcoin-Bubble and ICO-Mania that distorts everything,
and god knows what maneuvers the HLM-people (who own an insane amount of SPR) will do to influence the price of Spreadcoin, lol.
It's gonna be a wild ride, ...

Everybody be careful.

Meanwhile I'm working on solutions.
More to come soon.  :D

Well I meant similar in that you're both focusing on networking.

Networking?  :o

The btctalk thread misses you ;)

I'm on the bitcointalk forum everyday, just mostly spending time reading up on technical stuff.

I will address questions about spreadcoin, mining spreadcoin and the tools I'm working on,
but I am not interested in Helium (HLM) and other coins that are being constantly thrown around (as you just demonstrated).
Those have nothing to do with my work or spreadcoin.

BTW, if you want updates about what I am working on, just read my recent posts, for example:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1045373.msg19039841#msg19039841

You're both working on similar things, ...

No, we are not.

BTW, the only other coin I would want to participate in is Bitcoin.  ;)

The only exception to that are other SpreadX11 based coins, ... once they appear I will be willing to cooperate with them.  8)

I changed the price ticker to show SPR price in Satoshis and the Volume in BTC.

Technical Support / Re: wallet ubuntu compile

EDIT: I removed the moc-files from the source code, you can download and try again.

thanks, the vanitygenpage makes trouble afterwards.

src/qt/vanitygenpage.cpp:15:22: fatal error: QJsonArray: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.

What build environment are you using on ubuntu?
How do you specify what Qt-Version is used?

You'll probably be better off doing everything with QtCreator.
Are you?

Thanks for your hint - but I already tried it with a fresh git clone from https://github.com/spreadcoin/spreadcoin
I think i'm not the only one as you could see here https://github.com/spreadcoin/spreadcoin/issues/13

The daemon is compliable without any problem with the latest ubuntu.

Just delete any *.moc files you find.

For some reason (commiting files that should rather be ".gitignored" I guess), some *.moc files can still be found in the /src/qt folder,
but they shouldn't be there by default, they have to be created by your setup during compilation.

EDIT: I removed the moc-files from the source code, you can download and try again.

...is there a way to compile the GUI wallet with ubuntu 16.x.x LTS?
I was stuck on ubuntu 14 with this wallet a long time... but now I had to move...

In file included from src/qt/rpcconsole.cpp:49:0:
src/qt/rpcconsole.moc:14:2: error: #error "This file was generated using the moc from 5.4.0. It"
#error "This file was generated using the moc from 5.4.0. "

delete all previous files in your build folder, there shouldn't be anything in there, then try again.

Short update: Here are a few new pics of the raspberry pi cluster.

More to come soon.

Technical Support / Re: Network Hash Rate 4.36Ghz

There is no AMD version that is optimized correct? the one i have used is Sgminer 4.1.0? for RX 470 Not sure if there is a private one for that one.

Yes exactly, as far as I know, nobody uses AMD version, but that's not just the case with Spreadcoin but other coins too.
I hear that only with ethereum and coins like that are AMD versions even feasible.

Well, what can I say.

If you want to enjoy a boost in hashrate you either figure out yourself how to optimize the GPU kernels,
or you let a pro do it for you (nobody works for free)

As I said here:

http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=772.msg4361#msg4361

Most people are mining with this.

This should let you mine with ca 9 MH/s on your GTX 1070
