Technical Support / downloaded wallet, now what?
« Last post by Asparagus on Today at 06:08:23 pm »
Newbie alert .

Just downloaded wallet to Windows, now what?  Gotta folder full of files... clueless.  I'd like to run my wallet on my PC and stuff it with my SPR.  That's it, nothing more.

Technical Support / Somehow confused. Are Masternodes live on Mainnet or not?

So i've found the masternode testing thread, but for some reason i can't find the MN option on my mainnet wallet.
Is it currently actually possible to make a MN to generate real money on mainnet?

So, mining at ~ 4.4 MH/s, I should be able to find a block at an average rate of once in about 3 days (provided the network hashrate remains constant.) Is this more or less true?

Yes, I get the same result.
I hope someday the hashrate will come down a bit so that new people be able to mine some SPR too... we have some monster sharks in the water right now, coupled with unrealistically high price etc... We will see normalization soon, so I suggest you just keep on mining longterm.

I played around with the -x value too, but not with a 1060.

My best result for 1050 Ti was with -x 3 (close to 3.1 MH/s)

for 1080 Ti it was with -x 21 (close to 16 MH/s)

This was coupled with no OC and with Spreadminer10_fixed3

I tried 3 different 1080 Ti, all are pretty much the same just 2-3 % difference, but the best result I got with these here:

After a good bit of dependency and code hacking, I finally managed to compile the miner on Ubuntu 16.04. (Will write a detailed post on my struggles and how I finally succeeded later, in case it helps others.)

I'm sure people will appreciate that.

And if you even succeed in compiling it for windows you'll earn yourself a gold medal, lol.

Answering my own question (in the hope that it will help others):

I finally did manage to mine successfully. However, it took (a lot) longer than the 3 days I projected above. I suspect this is because I saw the network hashrate peaking all the way to over 22 GH/s (as opposed to ~ 12 when I posted above) at times. What still perplexes me a bit is that the reward/credit I've got is 4.04 SRP while I thought the block reward was some 6.6 SRP. Don't know what gives, but happy to have mined at least something in the end. :-)

Hm, there seems to be an issue with the blockexplorer at cryptoid, they haven't updated their data in 2 days.

I have 3 x 1080ti's on windows with 384.76 drivers.

Although I can't be sure about this (since I'm on Ubuntu and not Windows), I feel those having problems with 384 drivers might get some joy by downgrading to 375. HTH.

Indeed, downgrading has solved a similar issue I had.
Once your mining setup works well enough you shouldn't ever change a thing,
no drivers, no nothing, just leave everything the way it is.
