So Not finding even a single block is very highly unlikely i am not sure if i am doing something wrong.

Try and mine for longer than 24 hours and see what happens.

For your calculation you have to take into account that this is not how randomness works, you aren't "owed" a certain amount of blocks every day, you only have a certain "increased chance" to find those blocks (and so does everyone else according to the hash power they bring to the table).

I've been mining for a while, and I am used to days where I mine practically nothing, and days where I mine even more than what I expected.

I suggest you watch that tutorial, and maybe also try and increase the number of connections your wallet has with the network. (should reduce orphan blocks)

Thank you so much.. i absolutely understand how randomness and luck plays into mining or solo mining however having said that. when you have 1/200 chance of finding the next block and over 1500 independent instance you don't find a single block. statistically it gets harder and harder... I can walk you through the math if you like with 0.4% probability in an independent instance the probability of not finding a single block in 1500 independent instance is around 0.58% and finding 1 / 1500 instances with probability of 0.40% is around 99.42%.

Thank you for youtube video i will take a look and try to increase my network connection.

Take a look at this tutorial here "how to solo mine spreadcoin"

Hi georgem..sorry to interfere with the  conversation..just want to ask if  can i  mine just using my pc without any other hardware?

Sure you can, just use the built-in CPU miner of the Qt-Wallet.
Your chances to find a block will be approximately 500 times smaller than someone who uses a GPU.
But go ahead, if it so pleases you.

tnx a lot buddy..  :)

Mining with a single 970 GTX and nothing for 24 hrs so far. Should I give up?

am I outgunned?  I just want to break even with electricity cost and see if this thing even works.

I am going through the same dilema i ran it on GTX 1070 for around 24 hours without any block i am getting 12.5 MH/s with the new CCminer.

Which is approximately .38% of the current network hash rate so theoretically i should be finding a block every 200 minutes or so, or about 5-6 blocks per day.

[Your hash Rate/Network Average Rate (over 24 hours) ] x 100 = Percent of Hashrate you contribute to network

Multiply that by 1440 (Because average is 1 block every 1 min) i should be getting atleast 5-6 blocks per day.

So Not finding even a single block is very highly unlikely i am not sure if i am doing something wrong.

It took me 20 hours to sync my wallet to start mining and i have 300MB/s internet so her is the blockchain upto 1.410 Million Blocks Hope that helps.

Technical Support / How to Sync Wallet Faster!!! (windows only)
« Last post by crypticj on April 22, 2017, 07:36:21 am »
Hey guys So i wanted to try out mining at SPR coin for windows however as you know you cannot start mining until you are synced up.

I have a 300MB/s connection and still it took me over 20 hours (block chain is around 1 GB)  to sync (141 weeks) [very frustrating process]

So i am uploading a copy of Blockchain and Chainstate:

https://mega.nz/#!F3AhHQib!HiHfdeB1DCWYUzjeonDGkXkZsOnLBe2rwqyC9cERPp8

Hopefully that will speed up your syncing for your wallet its upto 1.410 Million Block.

If you are not sure what you are doing:
Let me walk you through the process after you install your spreadcoin wallet start it will start syncing with network and it will say 141 weeks to sync) wait 30 seconds and close the wallet

Open an explorer windows and type in : %appdata%/spreadcoin [that takes you to a folder where block data is saved ]

Now delete : blocks and Chainstate folder
Extract the zip file  with .7-zip and copy them back where the original "blocks" and "chainstate" folders were.

Restart your Spreadcoin wallet client it will load blockchain verify and than will go in to something call "RESCANNING....' thats perfectly normal it will take approx 10-20 min (i am not sure as i left it on for 30 min when i came back the wallet opened normally)

VOILA!! its synced up all 140 weeks.

Good luck!
