Once there are 300 masternodes on the network (or less if Mr. Spread lowers it) then 30% of the block reward will begin going to masternodes.  Meaning you'll get paid to run a masternode.

Mr. Spread also plans to implement Instant X which will allow for instant transactions.  And the Masternode Network will allow for a lot of other future functionality to be built on top of it as well.

Cool, so for the moment we are testing only the "setting up" of the MN network, right? And functionalities will be added in next versions...
The functionality for payments is there, we just haven't setup enough masternodes yet.  Mr. Spread may be lowering the testnet requirement in his next build so we can test that.  We'll see.  Instant X is not yet functional.

tnx MyFarm

waiting for 50 confirmations..... go faster! :-) can't wait to get this tested out on a headless daemon. after that will figure out best way to get this to coexist with my already running nodes. Really curious to see the performance difference between home ISP and VPS

Has anyone been successful in generating a mnsecret yet? I keep getting errors. I thought this was key to setting up a local/remote setup in where you could keep the coins in cold storage. I was going to try it with two different machines. Perhaps it's not implemented yet?

I believe I have been successful creating a secret with mnsecret.

From the Masternodes page, I copied the Output that corresponds to the wallet address with the balance I wanted to use. Typed mnsecret, plus my copied output string, in the console and pressed return and it kicked out a huge string of code. No error message.

Was going to wait until we actually see some mn payments before spending the time setting up a remote test machine.

It looks like there are 168 MN's going currently.

This is one of those situations where I am hoping that there is no such thing as a stupid question...how do create a masternode?  I have enough coins.  I just think that I don't know how to edit the conf?

Thanks! I see now the mistake I was making was typing the command like this- mnsecret tx:(then the output).
