Somethings not right.

Trying to setup the desktop (i5, ubuntu 64) as a test for myself, on doing "dumpprivkey SinCXEkoRRAjTyG2Mjjfi34kjkTKeAbEfx" I get an error. What am I doing wrong?

"Private key for address SinCXEkoRRAjTyG2Mjjfi34kjkTKeAbEfx is not known (code -4)"

Do you actually own this address? Is it in the same wallet?

That's the error you get when you try to dump the private key of an address you don't control.

Yes, I have just upgraded my SSD 120 to 250GB. Thought I had exported everything ok, did I miss something maybe?

Do you use the most recent wallet, and how where the addresses originally generated? Within the wallet/vanitygen, or did you previously import them from somewhere else?

Maybe you need to unlock your wallet.

Yeah, that's probably it.

Do a

Code: [Select]
walletpassphrase YOURPASSWORD HOWMANYSECONDS
and it will work.

Got it working (I hope), all looks good  :)
Will leave it on tonight, running CPU as G/card is old. So only 73KH/s. Looking into either building a small server(@home) and/or a VPS, haven't made up my mind yet.

Thanks again
