We can use this subtopic to come up with competition ideas and perhaps notify people of new ones that come to fruition?? I enjoyed the guess Mr. Spread's weight competition and would like to do more like it! 8)
I'll put up 500 SPR if Georgem wants to start another one!
-
Sure, mr. spread the hamster is an awesome creature.
If you like we can soon start a competition where I put a few objects in front of mr.spread and people have to guess what object he will go to.
ideas are endless! Maybe you have better ones? Let me hear them.
Talk to you soon, I have lots of dev work to do in the meantime!
-
Great! I'll sleep on it and see what ideas I can come up with so as not to distract you too much!! Please just let me know which address is best to send those SPR to. 8) 8)
-
Any SPR address you ever saw me post here in this forum or BCT is still valid and in my control. You choose.
Or you know what, if you want to be the sponsor, why not pay the winner directly when we get the competition going.
No need to send SPR to me first, just park the SPR somewhere as prize money. Maybe use vanitygen to create something fancy.
-
I'll send them to you along with a 500 SPR donation for Mr Spread's food (or your own) whichever you prefer!
If SPR goes to 50 cents I can't trust myself to not hodl them ;)
Besides my Vanitygen takes forever bc my comp is old :(
-
thanks again!
If you want to donate for mr. spread's food and accomodations I will keep you updated with fotos/videos.
About time I started a small youtube chanel about him!

Sent 1000!
That will hopefully set Mr. Spread up for a meal or two... I know things are relatively expensive in Switzerland, maybe Hamster food isn't as bad lol. :P
As for the competition, I rather like the idea of Mr. Spread having a choice of objects and seeing which one he chooses. Maybe we can guess the time it will take for him to eat a certain amount of food?? Or guess the weight of how much food he eats in a week. ;D ;D
Those are a few of my ideas. Probably whichever is easiest for you will be best!

Thanks a lot!
I will keep 500 SPR as price money, and invest the other 500 SPR in hamster food (should be enough for 6 months of food). I will keep you updated about my purchase.
BTW, I keep mr. spread in a room slightly away from my workshop.
So I do have capabilities there to create a few tiny objects made of wood that could represent spreadcoin related topics.
Hm, if I had to build a tiny servicenode made of wood, what would it look like? lol :o
BTW, I already have a small assortment of tiny wooden cubes and hemispheres in different sizes, should be fun to put them together.

You're welcome! Have to give Mr. Spread that healthy, GMO and gluten free food so he can keep up with all of that coding he's doing! ;) BTW you don't have to spend it on hamster food, I merely suggested that in jest hahah.
Can you make this out of wood??

haha, I was thinking more along the lines of this:

it needs to be wood, because mr. spread will probably try to take a bite of it! :D
Any kind of plastic or similar materials is a big no no.
-
If needed I have a 3D printer, so printing some little toys for him is a possibility that I have ;) ! It seems that you don't like plastic for him, but maybe PLA plastic is fine ? It is very robust and can be used to create too big objects for his mouth ;D.

Well, I do have some large plastic toys (tubes etc) for him, I just never leave them in his cage 24/7.
But when I take him out of the cage for free run, there are a few plastic thingies he can explore.
But while he's in free run I have to watch him all the time anyway, so I can stop him when he starts chewing plastic etc...
So yeah, using 3D printed objects just for the few seconds/minutes of a competition could be an awesome thing!
I'll get back to you about this, once development momentum has increased.

BTW, Georgem and I have also discussed doing a weekly (and perhaps a bigger Monthly) Meme/ Gif competition, so get your creative thinking going! Should be a lot of fun!

BTW, just to demonstrate how funny/cute hamster videos using objects could be, watch this:
