Let's say the 3rd test version is released and it ends, then probably a new mainnet will be on its way.
Will the new mainnet/fork/whateveritscalled will use all current coins or will the mining start from 0?
I am asking to basically find out if it's worth mining/buing now or should I wait until the new mainnet is out?

If the mining starts from 0 then it is an entirely new coin... maybe different name?

I haven't heard about plans for restarting the chain so I guess the current coins will stay after Test 03 is released

I am guessing the same thing, but your post doesn't put more light on the matter. Devs  must state what the plan is.

Technical Support / Re: Wallet crashes at closing.
« on: March 02, 2015, 02:57:50 pm »
I have this problem (maybe almost) every time I close the wallet (FILE/EXIT).
Both regular and testnet version, different PCes, different Win (7/8), all x64.
Sometimes I have to kill the process, because it still resides in the process list
and the icon stays in systray. Here is what the error looks like with the test wallet:

Are you mining from the wallet when you close it?
What OS version are you running?
Do you have main and teatnet running?

Yes - I hit STOP MINING before I close the wallet, but I guess it doesn't stop right away.
It happens both with mainnet and testnet wallet, running both separately or simultaneously.
Also it only happens if they've been running quite some time.
If I start and stop/close it in couple of minutes, there is no problem.

Does anybody still need MNs for round 2? Or tSPR?
I will be shutting my wallet down incl MNs and will be purging it.

Do you think about your own self the actual ultimate Kanye West Cooling fan? Do you own almost all of of His collaborative sneakers? Consider yet again, since there may be around a 99% probability that you really don't own virtually any of the particular following 4 Yeezy sneakers. Possibly not the particular adidas Yeezy, not necessarily his Nike Yeezys, and also not possibly his Louis Vuitton joint parts. Exactly what we all have here can be the particular collection of the Reebok S. Carter manufactured in particular intended for Kanye. Every single colourful suede or patent leather-based colorway featuring his School Droput era bear logo on the heel is a discount sample designed with regard to Kanye, and thought to be restricted to around 50 couples each one. nike shoes shop for new Nike shoes pictures.

Can we buy it with SPR?

Did you mean like with all the SPR? ;)

There is even lower set MNs - 166 and still my 300s don't get elected...
Watup with Mr Spread? I hope he is busy rewriting all that...

Alright, are we done testing now? Does anybody need 100k tSPR then?  ;D

So I have a lot of MNs in the 200s, 300s, 400s and 500s. All more than 24hrs.
None is elected, all have scores 0.01-0.02 or less.

Main Development / Re: Masternode profitability, SPR vs DRK
« on: February 18, 2015, 04:08:50 pm »
You have a valid point, but it's a tradeoff.

Currently with Darkcoin you need a static IP. This means nearly all DRK MNs are in datacentres on VPS instances. The problem there is that most of them are in the same small number of datacentres and just because you have eg. 10 MNs with 10 separate IPs on 10 VPS instances doesn't mean that they aren't all running on the same physical box.

With Spread not requiring static IPs the MN network will have greater diversity in MN distribution, but because as you say it's so easy to run many on one box this will counteract that diversity.

The 1440 limit isn't going to help either if it's carried over to mainnet. We're going to have 1440 MNs running on under a hundred physical boxes. As further services are built to run on the MN network this may be impractical in the future though, as MN resource requirements increase.

From your statement I feel like you are putting home-hosted MNs and datacenter hosted ones at the same level.
I would say this is not entirely right. While my ISP (comcast) is doing pretty well, I must say my connectivity is not nearly as reliable
as a datacenter one. That includes accidental unpluggin to plug in coffee grinder, tripping breakers, wet snow/ice conditions,
neighbor busting cables while digging and god know what else. No backup connection too. Limited UPS and on and on...

I was thinking what if there was a restriction about not having two MNs with the same IP. That would limit tremendously
the concentration of MNs. I might be shooting my self in the foot, since I thought to open at least couple of tens of MNs,
but don't you think this will help spreadcoin's decentralization?

I got the main concept of masternodes,
but there still things I can't get right...

Goals of MNs (as far as I know):
1. Decentralization
2. Continuity of operation (nodes permanent existence)

Goal 2 is being accomplished by rewarding with 30% of each block (spread through all MNs)

So what bothers me is how come there is no IP restriction whatsoever.
That means multiple MNs on the same wallet/machine/location, which contradicts goal 1.
So I have 50,000 SPR and will start 500 MNs 100SPR each. How is that decentralized?
35% of all MNs will rely on my nodes? What am I missing?

Main Development / Re: Ideas for future spreadcoin features
« on: February 17, 2015, 03:47:46 pm »
More advanced sorting features at the masternodes view.
Maybe excel style dropdowns:
Code: [Select]
sort by "amount"
sort by "elected"
...
etc...
The easiest way would be clicking on the columns you want them sorted by in reverse order.
Example: you want it sorted by CONTROL, then by ELECTED, then by AMOUNT.
So what you do is you first select column AMOUNT, then select ELECTED (which will remember
AMOUNT as secondary sorting) and then select CONTROL. Then AMOUNT will be third sorting,
and ELECTED will be secondary.
Now it is always AMOUNT that is a secondary sorting.

Like this post if you welcome the idea.

EDIT: btw, the miningprivkey=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx doesn't work in spreadcoin.conf.
Not on my PCes anyway... I might be missing something...
Are you sure you set up everything correctly? datadir is SpreadTest2Coin and config name is spreadcoin.conf.
Thanks, that worked. I thought spreadcoin.conf should go where wallet.dat goes in SpreadTest2Coin/testnet3/
But obviously it has to be all alone by himself (blockchain, wallet etc are in the ../testnet3/)
