Strange Block Timestamp?
« on: February 06, 2015, 01:33:46 PM »
I just stumbled upon a thing that confuses me, but probably only because I don't understand the blockchain well enough.

If you open the wallet blockexplorer, and look for block  255856
you will see that it has a timestamp of 2015-02-06 14:25:06

But if I look at the next block, 255857
it will show a timestamp of 2015-02-06 14:25:00

 ??? 6 seconds earlier?

How come the following block has an earlier timestamp than the previous block?
Can something like this happen if the block times are close enough together, and the one just happens to propagate faster thru the network than the other?

Yes, miner clocks are not synced. there is a time window, allow earlier time than last block.
