Whether intentional or not, permanent or temporary, Mr Spread's absence is something that Spreadcoin would have had to deal with sooner or later. TBH, programmers of Mr Spread's ability tend to move on as their interests in other areas develop, in these instances anything other than a clean break creates a lingering decision paralysis that often proves to be the ruination of the project. The current situation is a something of a baptism by fire and likely to prove the making or the breaking of the coin.
It's a very good sign that people are stepping forward to offer assistance, it betokens an inclusive group --- and IME, for purely existential reasons, Open Source developer groups absolutely have to offer a low impedance to those wanting to come on board, else the inevitable attrition will whittle the group down to an ossified and beleaguered rump of die-hards.
I'd like to see an education programme about coin logistics, node and explorer deployment, website and content development, right through to public speaking about crypocurrency in general and Spreadcoin in particular. If Spreadcoin gains significant traction, someone will have to perform these tasks / fulfil these roles in a consistent and capable manner.
Cheers
